Once upon a time there was a bus driver who owned that bus. He was very happy as he started earning good amount of money day by day. One fine day, one weightlifter type strong person entered the bus and said in a very loud and stern voice “Big John doesn’t pay for the ride”.Seeing his body shape, the driver got scared and didn’t say a word. This started to happen every alternate day now. This disturbed the driver who decided to solve this issue. So he went to gym regularly for the next two months and made sure that he is strong enough to face the big John. The next time when the same person entered the bus said the same thing “Big John doesn’t pay for the ride” to which with the help of his entire determination driver asked “Why”.The person answered “Because Big John has a bus pass”. Does this story ring some bells to us?  In our lives we normally do many things on the assumption that the other person would be thinking that we perceive but normally this is not the case.If we relate the same with sales that normal persons dread to do, this is the biggest deterrent.  When we go to the customer and the customer says that “I will think on this and let you know”. After this statement a simple question like “What you want to think on sir?” can make a huge difference. Here we normally go into our own world and assume many things that actually do not exist like the customer is not interested or already have the product. This leads to the biggest power on the earth that we have which is “QUESTIONS”. Questions help us to identify the solution of any problem in this world. They are the most powerful tool in the world to solve any problem. For example if there is a boss, and his subordinate is not working properly then what happens? The Boss screams on the employee taking out his frustration due to the employee’s sub performance which in turn demoralizes the employee or makes his mindset negative. Other alternative is asking the employee the reason of his sub performance. After this a series of questions like “If you require any help of mine, I am always available”? “Is there any other issue which is hindering your performance?” Etc.These types of questions are very simple but they go a long way in making that impact without wasting our energy or getting hyperactive with the other person. If you can keep your mind calm and think from the other person’s perspective I am sure it would help you to form such questions which will definitely help you to solve any problem on this earth.
